How are titles selected for ShotDeck?
Titles on ShotDeck are carefully selected by our curation team, which draws from a master list of tens of thousands of films, TV series, music videos, and commercials. Once selected, our image taggers break down each title into individual shots and add detailed tags and information to each image.
We prioritize titles based on a variety of factors, including visual style, significance in cinema history, diversity of subjects and filmmakers, country of origin, the creative judgment of our team, and, importantly, suggestions from our users. We really do listen to requests, and titles with more suggestions are often moved higher on our list.
One limitation is availability. We can only include titles when we’re able to acquire a high-quality source, so there are still works we’d love to feature that aren’t available at the standard we’re looking for. But we’re always working to expand our library, and that can change as new sources become available.
Ultimately, our goal is to make ShotDeck a home for everything from beloved classics and award winners to music videos, commercials, and visually iconic works, while also providing a place to discover emerging filmmakers and underappreciated talent.
With millions of images already in our library and more added regularly, we’re constantly working to make ShotDeck an even more valuable resource for the creative community. So please keep suggesting titles.
